Harsh - but it always seems to happen. Even the victim knows and still obeys the flow.
I like V.G. because he was trapped between impressionism and expressionism and still found his own way and never succumbed to surrealism - instead he cut his ear off. (perhaps a surreal action in itself ....)
i thought he didn't willingly cut off his ear, it was an accident, it happened while chasing gauguin with the knife, right?
