Just In!!
(pic)
All the Israeli troops had left Lebanon to the last soldier.
Mabrouk.

Fisk's war memoires.

Is this why Turkey should lead the international forces in Lebanon? Turkey has been strategically planting its forces along the pipeline map that the American destructive machine ha been drawing. I talked about the oil connection in this war before though it might not be the only reason for this war. Then again aren't all wars about money and control?

In support of Adam Shapiro, check his website here, and look at this video!
Adam organized the peace convoy that headed to Lebanon on August 12, i posted the details of the civilian resistance day earlier here.

The most ridiculous threats and appalling accusations have been thrown at him. (But similar accusations have been made against Rachel Corrie, a college student from Olympia, Washington, was killed while attempting to block an Israeli bulldozer demolishing a palestinian home in Gaza). These activists are called radicals who go to sites where they can be used as human shields for the terrorists against the IDF who is only trying to protect civilians!!.

(the same way they called the civilians who died in Lebanon human shields for HA, 1000 of them, 1/3 children)
Rachel was killed and others imprisoned, injured, threatend or deported...

Please show your support for Adam by emailing him or helping his group.
This letter was sent by him to Halla and i took the liberty to post it below.

"halla,
riham barghouti forwarded me your email about getting fellow activists to go to lebanon to help with the situation there. i am leading a similar effort and will arrive in beirut in the next couple of days to see about the strategy, logistics and feasibility of such an effort. as one of the co-founders of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) in palestine, i have some experience at this. however, we would not be looking to do humanitarian relief (though in the context of challenging and breaking israeli closures or sieges of the south, we definitely are interested in that), but rather to use an international presence to change the political and media situation. The four basic ideas of what we can do are these, so far (obviously willchange, have more or possibly less, once i am on the ground and meeting with lebanese and palestinian groups):

1. attempting to break the isolation of the south by having international sand lebanese together go there with relief aid and to establish a presence;
2. work with palestinian refugee communities to provide solidarity and a presence
3. strategize and work with lebanese groups to develop massive civilian collective action for various purposes, including effecting the awful western media
4. increasing pressure on our governments to impose a ceasefire and force israel to stop its attacks on lebanon perhaps we can coordinate our efforts...

i will share info once i arrive.where are you located? how much response have you received to your call?
in addition to above, it is critically important to make sure that any such effort is respected by all groups in lebanon and not seen in any way to betaking sides in internal lebanese political dynamic...it would not help any of us to be seen as contributing to factionalism.
hope this makes sense...
in solidarity,
adam shapiro"

Halla also wanted to share a laugh!.

Adam Shapiro - a jewish boy?

Mirvat said...

yes he's jewish and he's against the occupation. he's been, naturally, the victim of character assassination, which is just not fooling anyone anymore. we've seen the collateral damage in lebanon and now we know what it is in israel that constitutes collateral damage.
regarding your previous comments, yes i think that would be the peaceful thing to do if israel wanted peace, you see now?

There are a few more barbaric things that people do in time of war: Burn books and destruct Historical buildings or sculptures.

where did u get the news that the last soldier left?
I can't find it anywhere

Mirvat said...

anon, i heard it on future tv, i can't find it written anywhere either. i'll keep looking then confirm.

andrey, the raids continued till 8:00 monday morning, killing civilians in the convoy from marja3youn and hitting a house in tyr killing a family wih their house maid. today the raids stopped, people were killed today in bombs that were left. the headlines are more about the political situation and the aftermath now.

Mirvat said...

the displaced are going back but the sea and air blockades are still in effect.

I meant Israely Morning newspaper I have just got. The remainders of bombs are big problem - hope your goverment would take care of them (I can't understand why didn't they tell they would take care of the shias that lost their homes, and left it for nasralah). We have lots of a huge amount of rockets spreaded over the north too, there would be casualties.
by the way, found nothing about marja3youn convoy in israely press, but "IDF is checking the reports" - it was always a friendly town, as I understand there was no HA there...

also a cluster bomb after the cease fire killed a little girl and 2 more people. there are no HA in so many areas that were hit, but i really don't want to go there. read the human rights watch for that.

the government is taking care of its people. what do you know? i wish you would leave our internal affairs alone. you people never learn.

anny talks about this:
http://www.lbcgroup.tv/LBC/En/MainMenu/News/Local+News/Baalbek+Bacchus+Temple+14+August+2006.htm

I was looking for information on those lebanese prisoners for some time, and finally I foud this:
The three people for whose sake Hezb'Allah has plunged Lebanon into war, are Nasim Nasser (an Israeli citizen, serving a 25 year sentence for spying for Hezb'Allah), Yehiya Saqaf (a Lebanese Hezb'Allah member who Israel claims died in a firefight but Hezb'Allah insists is still alive), and Samir Kuntar.
now I understand why everyone are talking just about kuntar.
Isn't this Nasim Naser thing too much ?

Mirvat said...

andrey when will you get it?
this is about a much bigger war

I was talking about the legitimacy of HA (and your) claims, you can't adress every aspect at once.

what about shabaa farms and the mine maps and the air and sea invasion?

better yet, what about, lebanon has the right to defend itself and to exist?

i think we're both last word freaks!
